Made from clone 96 Chardonnay vines of Stonebridge Estate vineyard, the grapes were hand-harvested into small bins, pressed and wild fermented in 33% new French Oak barrels. The low intervention and slow fermentation took 3 months to complete. Wine completed its malo fermentation at its own pace during these months as well. This small batch was kept in barrels for a total of 18 months before being bottled and aged another 20 months before their release.
Wine has developed a complex nose of citrus and baked yellow apple and hints of quince, and candy aromas supported by well blended bouquet of spices, pineapple, and vanilla. The acidity is less pronounced than the 2017 vintage but still present and fresh supporting a long finish.
Single Vineyard. Vegan Friendly.

Tasting Notes
By David Lawrason, Wine Align (Rating 95)
Some maturity is already noted though there is also a reductive aspect, something not noted in either of the ‘19s. This counteracts the minor moment of oxidation to keep the wine fresh with energy intact. Lovely little snaps of green apple bites and white peppery piques show how much structure Block 11 can equip chardonnay for aging. The acidity is still in the groove but the buttery aspects and emergence of soft textures tell us the wine is ready to go. A chardonnay that has carried its best moments through to today.
